Heineken speeds up invoicing with Every Angle
Heineken has speeded up its invoicing with 14 days by using an Angle from the Operational Performance Management solution Every Angle. The beer brewer is using the solution in addition to SAP ERP for several years, but discovered recently that it could create one exception report with the cost variances on project level between finance and sales with just one unique Angle.
The Heineken Angle became the winning Angle at the Business Process Improvement (BPI) Award ceremony at the Every Angle Customer Day 2011. An Angle is an answer to a business question based on SAP data and Every Angle intelligence. At the Customer Day the BPI Award was handed to Heineken as the company that realized the best result with just one Angle. In addition to the 14 days faster invoicing, the Angle also delivered less DSO and higher interest earnings on cash.
Johan Koole, Business Controller Global Supply Chain within Heineken about the benefits: “The challenge in realizing this Angle was that we needed to combine different objects from different SAP area’s in one unique Angle.”
Combining SD, FICO and PS in one Angle
By combining SAP Sales Data (SD), SAP Financials (FICO) and SAP Project Data (PS) in Every Angle, Heineken was able to create an overview with all exceptions of cost variances on project level between finance and sales. This overview delivered a few benefits for the brewer. The two main benefits achieved were:
- - saving time by replacing a manual check for exception reporting
- - improving first time right by checking and correcting before sending the invoice saves a lot of time
Elimination of process risk of missing revenues
Next to the hard financial savings Heineken achieved there were several not quantified financial benefits to mention. These benefits can be placed in the category ‘soft benefits’:
- - invoice completeness, elimination of process risk of missing revenues
- - no reconciliation mismatches, save time in control and checking
- - environmental awareness by digital control instead of printing of invoices

Under the Agency Agreement Van Kerkhoff will start the exclusive sales of the Every Angle Operational Performance Management solution at SAP using companies for Chile, Argentina, Peru and Colombia. The advantage of an Agent Agreement in Chile is the direct access to the Latin-American SAP market. Van Kerkhoff about the potential of his region: “Only in Chile there are an estimated 200 potential customers for Every Angle. The potential customer market with the other countries included is obviously much bigger and so it’s a smart choice of Every Angle to focus directly on this market by appointing an agent.”
‘Showing benefits of Every Angle to SAP users’
Fred Hermans, CEO of Every Angle about the appointment of Van Kerkhoff: “As Every Angle is focusing on global expansion, we needed a dedicated agent for the Latin-American continent. Every Angle at CIO DAY 2011
This year Every Angle attended the CIO Day as a gold Partner. The CIO Day brings the top of the Dutch IT community together, including all nominees for the CIO of the Year Award, top IT analyst and CIO’s. With over more than 500 participants, this offered the visitors the opportunity to network, exchange ideas and learn from each other. The theme for the CIO Day 2011 was: Me, Myself and I5 - Information, Intelligence, Inspiration, Innovation & Interaction.
Roundtable Sessions Every Angle
Every Angle hosted a roundtable session at the CIO Day with the following topic:
Insight in Operational Processes: the Definitive Difference between Profit and Loss
Within dynamic markets, the main challenge is to rapidly implement changes of the business strategy while maintaining excellence in the operational processes. Business management requires consistent insight in the business processes in order to react quickly and effectively to changes within the marketplace and, thus, flexibility and support of the IT department are necessary to fulfill this need. As a CIO, how do you challenge this issue? How do you empower the business users with the appropriate services, consistent IT landscape and lower costs?
We would like to thank Gerwin Halfwerk, Manager Corporate Information Management, Eriks, for giving a short introduction about his experience with ‘Insight in Operational Processes’. After his introduction there was a lively discussion at the table.
Every Angle at the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo 2011
Attending the Gartner Symposium 2011 in Barcelona was a great success for Every Angle. The symposium is the largest and most important annual gathering of CIOs and senior IT Leaders. As one of the Cool Vendors in the SAP Ecosystem it was an excellent opportunity to show why companies should use Every Angle as add-on for their SAP ERP.
Presentation Heineken
On behalf of Every Angle, Heineken International gave a customer case presentation at the Symposium.
Henri van Lambalgen (Chief IT Architect) from Heineken explained, together with Hans Veltman (Product Manager, Every Angle) how Heineken addresses the new era of Operational Perfomance Management with Every Angle. The session with 60 interested attendees was a great success.
Later the Symposium, Hans Veltman also presented a more in-depth demo of Every Angle in an on-floor theater room to an engaged audience who also had the chance, together with all expo attendees, to visit the Every Angle stand to experience a demo.
Every Angle attended SAP SAPPHIRE NOW 2011
The SAPPHIRE NOW 2011 event is one of the biggest SAP conferences globally. For many companies it was the moment to explore new innovative business solutions within the SAP landscape. Of course Every Angle attended the event and showed which results users can achieve with the Operational Performance Management solution.
Pinball contest
Because the SAPPHIRE and TECHED were combined, it was a massive event. In order to draw customers to our stand, we had a pinball contest on the floor in which the highest score could win an iPad2. The winner of the contest was Ivan Giesbers from Marel.
The Why and How of deploying ‘Lean in Finance’
In finance ‘lean’ is something relatively new, while lean in production environments is something which has been deployed for several decades. It’s time to show finance departments the benefits of the lean way of working. That’s why Every Angle and TriFinance have developed a FiCo module (Finance and Controlling) for Every Angle users and all SAP ERP users that don’t use the Operational Performance Management solution Every Angle yet. The solution will benefit financials and controllers because they can quickly combine all sorts of financial data they can’t combine in SAP. According to Johan Reunis, Competence Center Manager Controlling & Reporting at TriFinance, the lean methodology is perfectly applicable in finance, and it should be much broader implemented.
“A change in accounting, control and reporting methodologies is needed, in order to provide operational and management information that supports the lean improvement activities”, said Johan Reunis. “Applying lean principles to the finance processes, such as accounting, controlling and reporting, would be a way to optimize these processes.”
‘The focus is too often on traditional accounting methodologies’
The change is needed because at the moment the focus of accounting departments within companies is on traditional accounting methodologies. These methodologies don’t provide the required overview and flexibility to improve the organization. When working in ‘a lean way’, delivering value to the customer is the central focal point, but in the traditional accounting models there are a few main issues that block companies from being lean.
Main issues of traditional accounting:
- cost increase of individual products, after production volume is reduced to align with customer demand, due to allocation of overhead costs
- due to decrease of inventory, initial profit goes down as this inventory reduction effect is taken into COGS
- traditional KPIs (machine utilization, overhead absorption rate, purchase price variance…) incentivize behavior that is contradictory to the lean principles
Lean accounting
According to Johan Reunis, lean accounting focuses on the total value chain of the product and delivering value. “Which means for example that companies should not base their buying pattern of raw materials on maximizing discounts from suppliers, but align this pattern with the market demand.
FiCo module for SAP
To visualize what’s really needed, SAP users can now implement Every Angle and use the FiCo module. The solution allows companies to define, measure and analyze operational KPIs. “These KPIs are needed to link financial and operational items within companies. Everybody in an organization should know what’s happening in order to improve a company.” By using the FiCo module in the Every Angle solution users are able to make their own reports and get insight into their processes and are therefore able to improve the performance of the company. But, according to TriFinance and Every Angle, a responsible person should be able to make the right adjustments before he or she can adapt and improve business.
Everybody has to understand the reporting language
Another aspect that’s required to make a success of lean finance is that all users of the Every Angle and SAP solutions should understand the reporting language. Too often management KPIs aren’t understood by employees at a lower level in the company. To make lean finance a success, financial statements should be presented in a language that is understandable for everybody in the entire organization. Once this is achieved it will trigger the appropriate actions too. Every Angle is developed in such a way that every action taken in the solution is explained in ‘general common sense info’ in an additional box.
Removing waste in finance processes
Finance departments that are not lean, are often full of waste. It’s either difficult to admit or either not recognized by finance professionals. To define what could be waste it’s needed that they ask themselves a few questions.
Questions all finance experts should ask themselves:
- are all management reports that are produced actually used for steering the business
- are all invoices always processed correctly the first time?
- do we never have to enter redundant data (several times)?
- is all reported information automatically generated from a single source for all reports?
- are all allocations of costs adding value to the decision making process?
- are our budgeting processes seamless, smooth and efficient?
- is our forecasting process integrated in our reporting?
Minimizing the typical finance peaks
The CFO or financial manager that’s able to answer these questions will discover that in his or her organization there is still a lot of waste that can be removed. Not only in manufacturing environments, but also in finance environments. Lean finance is important because it helps in avoiding processing of invoices in batches and creating inventory between each step in the process. It also helps in organizing processes and minimizing the typical finance peaks in activity level such as month-end closing, budget cycle and forecasting. A nice example of a SAP and Every Angle user is Sulzer Eldim. Katja Hegger is business analyst at the company. Watch the video where Katja is explaining how Sulzer is using SAP, SAP Mii and Every Angle in order to work as lean as possible.
A continuous improvement, not a project
Implementing the Every Angle FiCo module isn’t a big project and it’s far from being a big transformation process to implement lean finance. The roll-out of lean finance should be considered a continuous improvement process. How? Like this:
- initially a lean transformation project will probably be necessary, scope depending on the current state of the processes and organization
- however “lean” doesn’t end when that project is finished
- lean is a long-term mindset, continually looking for (small, incremental) improvements
- not only look at doing what we do more efficiently, but look at changing what we do
- lean is a mindset, a cultural shift, not just a set of techniques…

Customer Survey 2011: top-notch support and lower ABAP-costs
The results of the survey amongst our customers are incredibly rewarding. Assumptions we had about customer satisfaction, reducing data pollution in SAP, lowering the ABAP-development costs all seemed to be true in reality. The support of Every Angle deservers a special award according to our customers.
Every Angle customers are on average very satisfied customers. That is doesn’t need to be a bad sign if customers need to contact support, is something we can conclude when we see the statistics of the survey. Of all respondents (41), 81,3 percent said they were in need of support. And an incredible 96 percent showed they were very satisfied with the support they got. What surprised our customers, was that our support was giving additional tips, something which was appreciated by our customers.

CityTec launches Every Angle pilot project
CityTec, part of energy infrastructure provider Joulz, was only made aware of Every Angle after Joulz recently started using Every Angle. For several months now, this operational solution has been used at Joulz to their full satisfaction, and as a result Joulz has decided to implement Every Angle at CityTec and to demonstrate the full range of options it offers at an operational level. The overall enthusiasm for Every Angle proved contagious and CityTec contacted Every Angle to investigate what solutions it could offer their company.
The usual procedure is for Every Angle to give a live demo before launching a pilot project. However, in this case, the Every Angle users at Joulz had already given their CityTec colleagues a convincing demonstration. CityTec decided to contact Every Angle to find out about the best way to configure their hardware to run Every Angle. After some very constructive talks and interviews between CityTec and Every Angle, CityTec decided to start up an Every Angle pilot program.
First results with Every Angle
The technical installation of Every Angle was followed by a two-day power user training. After the training, the power users enthusiastically set to work with Every Angle. In the meantime they have managed to create their first operational reports for procurement, logistics and FiCo. Now that CityTec has implemented Every Angle, the value and capabilities of this operational solution are becoming increasingly clear. Over the next period the roll-out of Every Angle within the CityTec organization will continue and a viewing user structure will be set up.

‘Gartner Supply Chain Executive Conference was a great success for Every Angle’
Attending the Gartner Supply Chain Executive Conference 2011 in London was a great success for Every Angle. In this event, by Gartner promoted as ‘The World’s Most Important Gathering of Supply Chain Leaders’ the theme was ‘Back to Basics: The New Fundamentals for Efficiency, Agility and Innovation. The theme fitted perfectly to what Every Angle is able to deliver its customers when it comes to Operational Performance Management for SAP ERP.
The Lancaster London Hotel was hosting the Gartner Supply Chain Executive Conference, about 230 supply chain leaders attended the event on the 14th and 15th of September. Two days full of keynotes, case study sessions and panel discussions, tracks about supply chain strategy and planning, sourcing and logistics and manufacturing excellence and supply chain IT, were the perfect place to show the attendees what Every Angle is capable of. And, as it’s the philosophy of Every Angle to make Operational Performance Management (OPM) easy for organizations running SAP ERP, and most multinational companies and companies visiting the conference are using SAP as their ERP, there was enough room for discussion about how to improve operational performance.
Several potential pilots for Every Angle
The Every Angle management team could only conclude that the event was a great success. Hans Veltman: “We were able to get in contact with at least ten prospect companies. I’m convinced that we are able to start a pilot fase within at least half of those companies within now and a year. We will certainly join the conference next year.” On behalf of Every Angle Fred Hermans (CEO), Hans Veltman (Product Manager and co-owner) and Bert Bulder (Director Sales Every Angle Netherlands) joined the event. Every Angle was invited for the conference as it was named Cool Vendor in the SAP Ecosystem this year.
A few impressions of the Gartner event
Did you know about the traceability made easy module for SAP?
Did you know that…: the Every Angle Operational Performance Management solution made easy for SAP ERP is enriched with a traceability and recall module called ‘batch where used’? This module will save food manufacturers and processing companies a lot of time when tracing food, ingredients and raw materials. While initiatives to track goods, such as the General Food Law (GFL, 2002) were introduced many years ago, even today many companies are struggling to track and trace their ingredients and materials within a very short time.
Traceability and food safety are incredibly important these days. In order to solve problems as soon as possible and so prevent further possible damage as result of wrong delivered products or a production error, companies are obliged to have a well documented administration. Finding the root cause in days, weeks or months is no longer tolerated. Since the introduction of GFL by the Directorate General for Health & Consumers of the European Commission, tracing items quickly can only be done when a company’s ICT is up to date. Companies running SAP have a modern ERP system, but even in SAP it might take too much time to collect the right data on time according to the General Food Law demands.
The traceability functionality within Every Angle helps organizations in answering questions such as:
- In which finished product batches did faulty raw material batches end up? To which end customers were these products shipped?
- Are remainders of problematic batches still in the company’s warehouse or are they already shipped to customers?
- Which supplier batches were used in faulty end products?
- Which locations did a certain contaminated raw material batch pass?
- From which countries did all the different raw materials of a certain batch of end product originate?
Tracing is no longer time consuming and complex
In a more and more complex business environment raw material batches are used in many different (varieties of) end products, that are produced via many different production steps and that are shipped to many different locations around the world. Answering questions as written above, without the right IT support, can be very time consuming. The tracing functionality in Every Angle allows you to track batches of products forward and backwards through the supply and distribution chain easily and quickly. The traceability and recall solution within Every Angle is running at a few Every Angle customers. One of them, a food manufacturing company, is fully satisfied and is using it for improving operations.
A little explanation of how it works
The basis for the trace functionality within Every Angle is the use of batch management in SAP R/3 / SAP ECC. The different production and distribution steps are linked via the different order documents and material movement bookings. When a certain material is received within a company, this results in an increase of stock. This might as well be stock, which can be in a physical stock point within a warehouse. It’s also possible this stock is not physically put in storage in a warehouse, but used in some order. This can be seen as a virtual stock point. After that, the goods are issued again to the next stock point or process step.
Single or multilevel tracing of batches and orders
In case the company uses batch management, the batch number is also registered in every step. Therefore, a link from the material document to the correct batch(es) can be made. What Every Angle does, is using the material documents to link the different orders to the batches. This concerns both the resulting (supplied) batches as the used (consumed) batches. Using these links, Every Angle allows you to single or multilevel trace the batches and orders used throughout the supply and distribution chain.
Sign up for the free WTG webinar of Jacques Adriaansen on OPM and agile IT
How can we make IT more agile than your business? Jacques Adriaansen, co-owner of Every Angle Software Solutions, will answer this question
during a webinar of the World Trade Group (WTG). Jacques will show that an agile IT is a prerequisite for Operational Performance Management (OPM). The webinar is free, will be held on 13 October and takes an hour.
The webinar of WTG is aimed at everyone active in operations management, like sales, purchasing, engineering, production, supply chain and finance, wanting to learn more about OPM and the need for an agile IT. Many people should be interested in this topic and the webinar. One needs the right information in a timely manner in order to improve the operational performance of a company and it turns out that it’s still difficult to get details from an ERP system, even if you’re using a Business Intelligence (BI) system. BI focuses mainly on Corporate Performance Management or Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), to manage and control the longer term planning and recognize trends. Operational Performance Management (OPM), on the other hand, focuses on the details that are directly related to an operational level within an organization, up to the workplace. Detailed insight into bottlenecks in processes is difficult, if not impossible with BI and EPM/CPM.
Detect operational bottlenecks
Therefore; Every Angle has developed OPM as add-on to SAP, to enable companies to detect the real operational bottlenecks, to analyze their causes and to enable the business users to respond quickly and efficiently. The customers’ statements prove that we are very successful in this.
The continuously changing information need is one of the challenges for IT departments
Jacques on the subject of the webinar: “One of the biggest challenges of IT departments in the current rapidly changing business world is the continuous and fast response to the associated changing information needs. The timely delivery of the right information to measure KPIs and improve business processes is essential for Operational Performance Management.”
Operational Performance Management made easy for SAP run businesses
The title of the webinar is ‘Operational Performance Management made easy for SAP run businesses’. The webinar focuses on the use of Every Angle in addition to SAP ERP. Jacques presents a number of information requirements to get Operational Performance Management entirely in line with Corporate Performance Management. More than 90 percent of our customers have seen an increase their information reliability, an improvement of their customer service levels, lower stock levels and have noticed that they need fewer man-hours to create reports and correcting errors.
Important learning points in this webinar are:
- The data model and logic of an ERP system are at least as complex as the processes they depict
- Process analysts and end users must have a quick trial and error possibility that supports them getting exactly the information they from their ERP system, without burdening the IT department
- The IT Department should not be overwhelmed with ‘yet another user list’ – requests, instead they must especially focus on achieving the company key strategic goals
- A successful software application for business users hides the complexity of the data model, contains the business process logic, is extremely fast and supports “Rapid Prototyping” of KPI’s
You can register for the webinar via the following link: http://www.wtgwebinar.com/webinar/making-operaional-performance-easy-for-sap-run-businesses/189
When, how late and duration:
Date: 13th October 2011
Time: 14.15 GMT + 1 time
Duration: 1 hour/60 minutes

Every Angle and Camelot develop predefined master data quality quick check
In order to be successful, a company is dependent of an excellent data quality for the core business processes. However, in reality however, many companies are suffering from bad maintained master data and polluted transactional data. As it’s often difficult and very time consuming to make sure all of the master data is correct and actual, companies need to find a way to easily analyze their business critical data. To serve the need of companies, Every Angle Software Solutions and Business Value Partner Camelot have developed the DQ (Data Quality) Quick Scan. This allows companies to get insight in their data quality in just two weeks.
The DQ Quick Scan is developed to help companies that are using SAP ERP. Every Angle leverages your full potential and is making Operational Performance management (OPM) easy for businesses using SAP. Reiner Pistorius, Geschäftsführer Every Angle Deutschland GmbH: “The Quick Scan is providing companies a quick and qualified overview about the improving potential from data quality perspective, covering various business processes. Also the service indicates how to gain higher efficiency within those business processes by simply cleaning up the pollution and/or embedding a clear Master Data Governance.”
Improve operational business efficiency
The importance of a good master data quality is evident. It’s an adequate instrument to improve operational business efficiency, which is one of the main success factors of a well run company. In challenging times companies need to improve their business process efficiency. For example non harmonized, historically grown structures, multiple systems and process changes are obstacles in achieving this operational business efficiency. “We see a big potential to serve the markets in Germany, Switzerland and Austria with this DQ Quick Scan. Already the first quick scans with customers showed an enormous saving potential, which can be achieved with minor efforts. Mainly business process costs can be reduced significantly”, stated Henrik Baumeier, Head of CC Master Data Management.
Measuring, analyzing and improving
To improve the quality of master data, it’s necessary to analyze its impact. The DQ Quick Scan will help you to:
- Understand the company individual impact of master data to transactional data in the business process
- Find shortfalls & inconsistencies in the master data and the corresponding transactional data
- Define measures to improve the data quality on both initial and continuous level
Due to a lack of good data quality, companies can experience several problems, such as not meeting customer expectations (SLA’s), being non compliant to legal regulations, dealing with a too low or too high stock level and experience shortfalls in payment. By allowing Every Angle and Camelot to roll out the DQ Quick Scan, companies will get insight in how their situation is from a data quality perspective. And all that in just two weeks.
The combination of having both Every Angle and the DQ Quick Scan rolled out will bring many benefits to customers. Our solution, an Operational Performance Management add-on to SAP ERP is named Cool Vendor by the Worlds’ leading analyst firm Gartner. Some companies using the solution are Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated (CCBCC), Sulzer Eldim, Bridgestone, Heineken and Philips.

Maxeda DIY Group implements Every Angle at Praxis and Brico
Maxeda DIY Group, the company behind the Dutch DIY company Praxis and the Belgian Brico company, has launched an Every Angle pilot program. The launch of this type of pilot is usually also the start of a wider roll-out of the Every Angle Operational Performance Management Solution. The Maxeda DIY Group will be deploying Every Angle as an additional tool to the company’s SAP ERP software.
The Maxeda DIY Group has 372 shops in the Benelux. This is partly the reason why the company has such a huge SAP database volume. For example, the database contains over 650,000 item numbers and there are more than 70 million possible item/shop combinations. Due to the huge volume of the SAP database, there is an increasing demand for reports and analyses in order to respond to the many business questions. Consequently Maxeda uses many queries. The combination of a large SAP database and the many queries has decreased the performance of the SAP ERP database and slowed it down considerably. To meet the need for more flexible and faster reports within the Maxeda DIY Group, the parent company of Praxis DIY shops decided to consider Every Angle.
Optimization of the business processes
The Maxeda DIY Group needed more insight into their stocks and bottlenecks. The problems they were having, were caused by their large data volumes and data pollution in their ERP system. The business and logistics processes can only be optimized if everyone in the organization has more insight into the available stocks and into what is causing the bottlenecks. Richard den Ouden, Director at Every Angle: “Once you have that, it is possible to make proactive decisions and optimize the processes. Thanks to the flexible and fast reporting capabilities, end users of Every Angle can now respond proactively.”
Live Demo of Every Angle
After a Live Demo in their own Maxeda DIY Group environment, the responses from the people involved were extremely positive about everything Every Angle has to offer. Peter de Greef, CIO Maxeda DIY Group: “Every Angle adds value and complements the existing software that is currently used. And in addition to that, the response time is impressive.”
The options Every Angle was able to offer, as demonstrated during the Live Demo, made the Maxeda DIY Group decide to launch a pilot project with Every Angle. After an installation that took one day, and after three days of training and a further 15 power users, the SAP add-on is now being deployed in the following areas: Supply Chain, Masterdata, Financial Accounting and Controlling, Procurement and Stock Management.

Customer Survey: ‘We deliver more than customers are expecting’
As a solution provider, it is incredibly important to make your customers happy and keep them happy. So, we decided to ask their opinion about our tool and company. We were especially keen on finding out whether we deliver what we have promised. What we have discovered, is that we reduce stock levels, that we improve operational performance and that our customers are very happy with the Every Angle solution.
So, we noticed Every Angle (EA) is truly helping our customers in saving money. We succeed in improving the service levels and KPI’s of companies that are using our solution. According to one customer, removing Every Angle would result in ‘a riot’. A total of 41 customers filled in the questionnaire. Most of these respondents can be categorized as Business Power Users, the type of Every Angle users that are able to define and execute Angles within the solution. We questioned three types of users: Business Power Users, IT Power Users and Business Sponsors. The last category consists of people who are typically working on a higher level or management job. They are also the ones to decide whether EA is implemented within the company. All three respondent categories include actual or potential management functions.
Increase reliability of SAP data
One of the statements we, for instance, postulated: ‘With the use of Every Angle we have been able to increase the reliability of data in SAP’. On this statement, an impressive 81,3 percent of the respondents answered by selecting agree or strongly agree.
Delivering additional suggestions to customers
Another example of a statement: ‘Every Angle support delivers good quality answers and solutions’. A whopping 96 percent of the respondents answered positively. We then offered the next statement: ‘When dealing with my questions or problems, Every Angle support comes with additional useful suggestions’. We found that 76 percent of our customers agree we deliver additional suggestions to improve the customer situation.
Reducing data pollution in SAP while improving trust in SAP
Two of the most important aspects, reasons why our customers choose to implement Every Angle, are: ‘Every Angle is reducing the data pollution in SAP systems’ and ‘our solution is improving customer confidence in the reliability of SAP data’. On both questions we received very positive feedback. The first question generated a positive response of 80 percent; for the second, 62,6 percent selected agree or strongly agree.
Customer movies online
We will share more results of the customer survey at our annual customer event in November. In the meantime, we will publish more and more customer videos on our website. We prefer our customers to say if the Every Angle solution is really delivering them crucial competitive benefits and if Every Angle does improve their Operational Performance Management. It seems we do a good job, therefore please check: www.everyangle.com/videos

The agreement between Every Angle and Atos Origin includes the use of the Every Angle solution during SAP projects such as implementations, migrations and upgrades and will host the solution for customers in their datacenters as well. Fred Hermans, CEO of Every Angle about the agreement: “Every Angle is growing, we feel there is a certain momentum among SAP running businesses to use our solution as an embedded tool for Operational Performance Management, and to continue this growth path we need strong partners. Atos Origin is a very strong partner and therefore I’m very pleased to announce this agreement which will benefit both Every Angle and Atos Origin.”

We have developed services to identify improvement areas in order to generate value using SAP software companies already own. A strong and unique component of these services is the usage of the Every Angle solution during the survey to determine improvement areas based on customers SAP data. So Every Angle is an important part of our toolkit to identify opportunities for business process improvements. Also, we will use the Every Angle solution for our SAP projects and will offer hosting services in our data centers.”
ERIKS Successful Seminar: “Insight in operational processes makes the difference for ERIKS”.
ERIKS, supplier of technical components, is one Every Angle’s first customers. After years of close collaboration, ERIKS showed the results they achieved by using Every Angle at the seminar which was organized on June 8. 80 people attended the ERIKS seminar, half of which also received a guided tour at ERIKS.
You can compare running a company to top-level sports. Richard den Ouden (Every Angle) made this comparison in the sense that he thinks ERIKS makes optimal use of all the opportunities Every Angle has to offer. ERIKS uses the operational performance management solution for ad hoc analysis, but also as a proactive tool to prevent future problems. Réne Overwater, Manager Administrative Logistics at ERIKS, could do no other than confirm this: “It is clear that Every Angle helps us. We use it to control our processes, to make management reports and to get ad hoc information from SAP.
Overwater discussed the use of Every Angle as an add-on for SAP and he described the situation before the implementation of Every Angle, touching the sore spot. “Pete followed up orders which were marked ‘too late’ in SAP. But he could not see in SAP that for part of the orders there was enough stock that was not linked to any sales order.
Every Angle also offers huge benefits for the management. Overwater: “If you want an overview of the expected revenues BW does not suffice. Every Angle gives us insight in the exact turnover. For us the status of the order intake is important. As management information tool, Every Angle offers us the necessary insight.”
Norman Witsel, National Key Account Manager of ERIKS Netherlands, focused in his presentation on ERIKS’ development over the past decade and the choices they made to continue the growth of their company. Witsel: “We manage, for example, the stock for our customers from our 25 service centers. This fits our company policy of ‘unburdening’. The management of our customers prefers to deal with core activities only, so we take over the non-core activities of our customers. It also gives us the opportunity to improve the processes at our customers by using the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) principle. We want to distinguish ourselves with price, technical knowledge, and product availability, either by standard stock maintenance or by an e-commerce system. Moreover, we are able to provide global sourcing, something which especially our bigger customers appreciate.”
Gerwin Halfwerk, manager Corporate Information Management, focused in his presentation on the process from business strategy to operational excellence. “We have an ambitious growth target. Such an objective requires certain conditions. Logistics play a key role; the logistic services have everything to do with process excellence and need to be right. Only then will we be able to increase our turnover to two billion euros.” Although ERIKS operational excellence is country orientated, the independent national organizations will reap the scale benefits of the entire company. Structured working with SAP and Every Angle will ensure operational excellence. Halfwerk: “If our key users have the right information to work with, then it will add value to the company. As a company you can make big steps forward.”

What CCBCC needed, according to Jim Small, Systems and Business Process Manager Supply Chain, was a refreshing new approach to providing Operational Information direcly to the business users. In the recent process CCBCC a few things could be improved. Small: “We wanted to deliver the variety and volume of data required by our business users.” Coca-Cola Bottlers Consolidated is using several tools to provide this information. “BW / BI report requests were placed in a queue for IT to deliver. Besides this data load times from ECC to BW were very long.”
80 percent of business requirements live in one week
CCBCC discovered during the Live Demo of Every Angle that the solution for operational performance management was able to implement and go live with 80 percent of the total CCBCC Business Requirements for extensions within less than one week. Small: “And several of these Business Requirements had been attempted using traditional BI technologies, without success.”

Every Angle Named Cool Vendor by Analist Firm
Every Angle Software Solutions, a provider of Operational Performance Management solutions, today announced it has been included in the list of “Cool Vendors” in the Cool Vendors in the SAP Ecosystem, 2011 report1 by Gartner, Inc. Once a year, the list of Cool Vendors is published by the world’s leading analyst firm and consists of companies with innovative solutions to common issues taxing SAP-users. Every Angle offers a powerful tool to make operational performance management easy for SAP run businesses.
In the SAP Ecosystem there are only five companies mentioned as Cool Vendor by Gartner. The report states: “There are many impressive vendors in SAP ecosystem, so choosing five is not easy. This year’s Cool Vendors provide innovative solutions to common issues taxing SAP users. Three Every Angle customer case presentations at the VNSG Congress
Every Angle is attending at the biggest SAP themed event in the Netherlands: the VNSG Congress. The Congress will be held in Groningen from 14 and 15 April. This year you can attend three Every Angle customer case presentations: Sulzer, Vrumona and Electrabel. Of course there are many other activities during the congress for you to attend. We invite you to make a note of the following presentations in your agenda:
Sulzer Eldim Netherlands: An improved production process with a financial dashboard
Time: 14 April at 12.00
The link between the workfloor and financial KPIs plays an important role in many companies, especially production companies. It is very difficult to maintain good links between the production floor and the financial department, because their experiences and working environments are so different. However, financial results depend heavily on production processes, and so in order to bring both closer together Sulzer has developed a financial dashboard. This shows the financial KPIs clearly for each production cell and enables the user to view the underlying production order with a click of the mouse. Sulzer will present the dashboard and the results in its presentation.
The successful cooperation between SAP BO and Every Angle will also be demonstrated live.

Vrumona: Insight and transparency between Technical Department and Production
Time: 14 April at 13.30
During this presentation, Ruud van der Burg, Maintenance Engineer, will explain why cooperation between the Technical Department and Production is a must with TPM. In order to optimise this, it is supported by several reports which are generated quickly and conveniently and can be used to work on front-line maintenance focusing on production. These include the following aspects:
- Labels (M1, maintenance request) from production to completion report;
- Breakdown (M2 breakdown) deployment at cause level;
- Warehouse stock reduction while retaining level of service;
- Work orders that cannot be carried out on time because of shortages of materials;
- The various aspects concerning Maintenance at Vrumona are dealt with using the documentation of the DMS implementation on the workfloor.
These reports are generated with Every Angle in combination with SAP DMS and SAP PM/MM.

Time: 15 April at 11.00

Cooperation Pro Formit and Every Angle for extending the HR module
Pro Formit and Every Angle Software Solutions have entered into a partnership for the development and rollout of the Every Angle HR solution; an indispensable, fast and flexible addition for many SAP users. In this cooperative venture, Pro Formit has been appointed as the Software Development and Business Value Partner.
The aim of this cooperation between Every Angle and Pro Formit is to extend further the existing HR module of Every Angle. ‘There is a considerable need in the market for making the fast and flexible reports that Every Angle offers available for the SAP-HR-module as well. This cooperation will enable us to speed up development in this area’, says Fred Hermans, CEO of Every Angle Software.
On-going development of existing Every Angle HR solution
Mike Hoksbergen of Pro Formit has identified a considerable need for operational reports in the HR world. ‘With its operational reporting options, Every Angle is filling a gap in the market which is not being filled at present in the HR world. We are convinced that this solution, which we are helping to develop, will serve our clients even better.’ Hoksbergen refers here to the considerable need among users, such as clients who currently use SAP BW for all kinds of operational reports even though this solution was actually developed for drawing up management reports. ‘By using the Every Angle HR module, these companies relieve the burden on BW. Users will also be impressed by the speed and flexibility of the module.’

Kick-off 2011 at Kraton Performance Polymers with Every Angle solution
Kraton Performance Polymers, a manufacturer of styrene-based thermoplastic elastomers (polymers), is one of the first new users of the Every Angle SAP add-on in 2011. Kraton visited the SAP Sapphire Event in Orlando and got so interested in the Every Angle solution, it asked for a live demo.
In early 2010, the SAP competency center at Kraton went to SAP Sapphire Orlando in search of a reporting and analytics tool that would allow users to create their own ‘reports’ without having to engage IT. “When they observed the Every Angle booth signage that said ‘Fully Functional on Your SAP in 3 days’, their initial response was disbelief”, said Mark Knowles, VP Sales and Marketing at Every Angle US. “Intrigued, they decided to learn more. Before the day was over, 8 or more Kraton people had crowded into the Every Angle booth to see this new and exciting technology.”
Expanding Every Angle at Kraton to be expected
Several weeks later, Every Angle conducted an on-site demo at the Kraton headquarters in Houston Texas. From here, a two month pilot was commenced. Training was conducted in Houston, twice, and at their production facility in Belpre Ohio USA. Overall, Kraton has 5 manufacturing facilities around the world and may expand their Every Angle usage to these plants. Kraton has played a historically significant role in the development of styrene-based thermoplastic elastomers. These polymers have been used in footwear, roads and roofing, soft-touch plastics in consumer goods (cases and covers for hand held devices). In 2001 Shell divested and Kraton was formed.

Erik Brouwer explains the role of Every Angle for Perfetti at Logicon event
Erik Brouwer, Director Supply Chain Management North-West Europe at Perfetti Van Melle, explained during the Logicon 2011 event in Amsterdam how he transformed the supply chain of Perfetti Van Melle into a SMART supply chain. Every Angle, the solution that makes Operational BI made easy for SAP run businesses, helped Brouwer a lot in reaching his goals.
“Making things easier and understandable for everyone in the Perfetti Van Melle organization”, was the main message in his presentation at Logicon. Key points in making things smart within Perfetti Van Melle were to increase consumer responsiveness and to use a more direct consumer input used to balance demand and supply. In addition Brouwer put the focus of the organization on horizontal cooperation in platforms and finally there was a focus on new IT technology and infrastructure.
‘Insight in performance with Every Angle’
Brouwer, who became Supply Chain Professional 2010 in The Netherlands, was one of the stimulators of the rollout of Every Angle throughout the worldwide Perfetti Van Melle organization. While Every Angle was initially rolled out in the Benelux region (The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg), it is now used to provide insight in performance (KPI’s) through transparency to all involved in the company. It is also used to monitor actions and results. “Every Angle was a very important solution to support employees in achieving those results”, quoted Erik Brouwer. “Every Angle is a nice tool to make sure that people don’t only hear weekly what their performance was, but also have the tool to monitor their performance on a daily basis.”
Event: How to make IT more agile than your business?
Modern businesses are depending on actual management information based on operational facts to manage business processes and to react instantaneously on market changes. Users do require End-to-End Process Performance Analytics, but can not act on the basis of the actual reporting environment. Why?
And do you also feel the pressure to deliver BI projects more efficiently? How do you free up the time of your BI team to finish high-priority projects? Are you also wondering which technologies could improve the efficiency and effectiveness of your BI operations?
Successful businesses need agile, fast responding IT support with empowered users. The creditable CIO delivers reliable support with high functionality, using ready to use standard technology, short implementations and low support costs. What are your weapons?

- How does technology contribute to Operational Excellence?
Why your IT department has to be more agile than the business.
Jacques Adriaansen – Every Angle – Managing Director
In the last decades change has become a constant in the business environment, and these changes come at an increasing frequency and amplitude. In a constantly changing environment, the business information need is also constantly changing. This implies that the IT department has to run in front to deliver the correct information timely to management and execution.
This evolution explains the need for Operational BI (next to Strategic BI) in companies.
In his presentation Jacques Adriaansen elaborates on:
- Operational BI in relation to Strategic BI
- Agile Closed Loop Performance Management

Successful Workshop in Executive Performance Management
On 8 December Ozone Consulting and Every Angle organized, in collaboration with Erasmus University Rotterdam and SAP Netherlands, a workshop in performance management. Participants of the workshop were users of Heineken, PPG and Hunter Douglas.
The workshop was focused on the importance of setting the right goals and the ‘road’ to achieve these goals. Essential is keeping up to date of relevant developments by having the right KPIs in order to be able to adjust and react if necessary. This theory was put into practice through a simulation game.
Performance Management
Performance Management was, is and remains an important topic. Since the introduction of the Balanced Scorecard in the late eighties, many self-respecting companies or organizations moved to a KPI-based management model. But this move was not always successful. There are various obstacles identified that frustrates the Performance Management process. For example: we always act in a constant changing market, which means that you continuously have to make choices at strategic, tactical and operational level. If you don’t make any choices, then you can’t speak of a strategy and your company is like a rudderless ship.
KPIs and Dashboard Engine Every Angle
It takes a lot of time and effort to get a KPI in a BI report. This has various implications. Two of these consequences are the “First-time-right” approach and the “information overload”. It often happens that it takes so long to formulate the right KPIs that people lose interest by the lack of results, or that they are overtaken by reality, in which case you speak of “First-time-right”. With regards to “information overload” many KPIs are appointed – as a precaution – (hundreds of KPIs on a single dashboard are no exception) to make sure nothing is missed. You can guess the effect: an overload of KPIs betrays a lack of choices and decisions and without making decisions, there isn’t a strategy: a rudderless ship.
A solution to solve this problem is the “multiple-time-right” approach. In this approach the focus is on the rapid prototyping of Performance Management and particular on KPIs. This gives you the opportunity to change quickly your KPIs based on market developments. The new Every Angle Dashboard Engine perfectly matches with this approach and gives you the opportunity to make changes to your Dashboard quickly and cost-effectively.
What is new in EA 2011?

Dockwise uses Every Angle for six months
In the spring of 2010 Dockwise implemented Every Angle. They wanted to unlock their SAP data on an easy way and to build operational reports. One of the most important criteria was the possibility to combine data from various SAP modules.
After using Every Angle for 6 months, it was a perfect timing to evaluate and to see where improvements lie.
“Still we are using Every Angle not enough,” said Rick Ackerman, Procurement Manager. “We have the reports and the information is good, but now we have to ensure that more people will use it.”
Within the Administration Division Every Angle is more a part of the daily practice. Rob van den Broek, Lead Administration, indicates that his department could not work without Every Angle anymore. “We have defined a number of overviews who are regularly used by the users now. We also use data from Every Angle for several KPI reports.“
Jess Brock, project leader of the Every Angle implementation, summarized the whole implementation, “Every Angle has a lot of opportunities. And now it is important to take full advantage of it.”
Dockwise
Dockwise provides transportation, logistics, project management, procurement and engineering for heavy marine transports and installation to some of the most challenging environments in the world. Dockwise operates the largest and most versatile fleet of 20 semi-submersible heavy transport vessels in the world. How Heineken Netherlands determines the Carbon Footprint with Every Angle
During the seminar of Every Angle and Heineken, Anton Romijn (Strategic Supply Chain Analyst, Heineken Netherlands) demonstrated how he uses Every Angle to get the necessary information out of SAP to determine the Carbon Footprint in just five minutes.
This is a complex analysis that involves many SAP tables and where a lot of SAP and logistics expertise is required. Because this knowledge is built in Every Angle it was possible for Anton Romijn to analyze their Carbon Footprint in just a few clicks.
Sustainability is currently a hot item. Also in the supply chain sustainability has full attention. The benefits of a sustainable supply chain are clear: less energy, costs and environmental impact. An important measurement of how green a supply chain is, is the Carbon Footprint. This determines the influence of the supply chain on the environment.
More and more companies are mapping their carbon footprint to measure how green their supply chain is. They are using this information in their operations. In a supply chain that is controlled by SAP Every Angle a powerful tool to determine the Carbon Footprint, as showed by Anton Romijn.
In addition to determining the Carbon Footprint Every Angle helps management and staff of Heineken Netherlands with better and faster management information and KPI measurements for the supply chain. It helps to answer questions regarding overall stock levels (in order to reduce working capital) and to measure the conformance to schedule of departures of vessels from the Rotterdam Harbour.
Sulzer Eldim wins Business Process Improvement Award 2010
At the Every Angle Customer Day 2010 on 7 October, the project team led by Katja Hegger (Business Analist, Sulzer Eldim) won the Business Process Improvement (BPI) Award 2010.
The BPI Award is an initiative of Every Angle for which Every Angle users can submit their successful improvement projects to contend for the BPI Award. Many project teams submitted a project, including teams working at Alliander, Electrabel, ERIKS, Intervet Schering-Plough Animal Health and Vrumona.
During the Every Angle Customer Day the audience selected the project they liked the best based on the project team presentations. Sulzer Eldim won the award with their “Next Step in a Cell Concept” project which uses a financial dashboard to increase the focus on the result of the various cells and levels within the organization.
Katja Hegger on the winning project: “The cell summary is used at various levels of the organization, ensuring the same information is available to everyone. The financial information can be easily and quickly grouped into an overview. This allows us to present information from the various SAP modules (PCA, CO and FI) on a single A4 sheet per cell. This sheet not only includes the costs per month but also data on the registered hours and KPIs which make trends visible.”
Truus Zorg, Sulzer Eldim Manager Information Systems, on Every Angle: “When I introduced Every Angle eight years ago I believed it would provide opportunities. At the time I could not have foreseen that there would be this many advantages and that the added value would be this high. I am very proud of the Sulzer Eldim team and the Every Angle staff who paid such close attention to the objectives of the team.”
Please read the further information on how Every Angle was used at Sulzer Eldim to create a financial dashboard.

Every Angle keeps growing!
The fact that Every Angle is a powerful system to manage and optimize operational processes is something we have known for a long time. Now, however, it seems that more and more companies are convinced about this as well. Every Angle is growing impressively underlining the important part it plays in the SAP landscape.
The growth rates of Every Angle speak for themselves:
- In one year time the number of Every Angle users grew with 67%!
- Every Angle is active in 28 countries now. Last year Every Angle was still active in 22 countries.
The impressive growth is due to new users both at new and existing customers. An interesting development is that more and more existing customers are expanding the number of Every Angle users within their organizations. This way they increase the added value of Every Angle for their organization as a whole when it comes to optimizing operational processes and improving the quality of the SAP system.
New Every Angle display function in SAP
To make Every Angle even more useful to the operational level, Every Angle has built a display feature in SAP. This means that the Every Angle Client can be used within the SAP GUI, without the need of installing the Every Angle Client.
With this new function, intended only for the viewing users, it is possible to request angles (reports) in the SAP layout and to export them to Excel. users will not be able to create new angles or modify them in the SAP-GUI. Only the power users with a complete Every Angle Client are able to do this. With the SAP transaction only existing angles can be viewed.
During our lab session on May 26 people were very enthusiastic about this development. The display function will be available in the release of Every Angle 2011, which will be available in Q4 2010.
Sulzer Eldim builds financial dashboard with Every Angle
Sulzer Eldim has launched a project to make the results and costs of its various production cells transparent. Every Angle is, according to Rob Noldus, Finance Manager at Sulzer Eldim: “A valuable tool that provides the necessary information at the right level every day.”
Making results and costs more transparent
Sulzer Eldim has launched a project to make the results and costs of its various production cells transparent. Through a financial dashboard Sulzer Eldim would enable their production cells to check their own performance, direct costs, scrap, hiring from other cells and other KPI’s.
How the Financial Dashboard works
Every Angle feeds the dashboard with information from Profit Center Accounting (PCA), Controlling (CO) and Financial Accounting (FI). Each night, a set of angles are exported and automatically loaded by Excel. Subsequently the Excel dashboard presents the key figures in the desired layout. It is also possible to click on the KPI’s to get more details and do root cause analyses to solve or prevent possible bottlenecks.
Results according to Finance Manager Rob Noldus
Rob Noldus, Finance Manager at Sulzer Eldim, about the financial dashboard:
“With Every Angle we have developed a valuable tool that provides us the necessary information at the right level of responsibility on a daily basis. This results in a better financial insight and awareness and develops a result oriented incentive on multiple levels within our organization.”

Successful Gazelle seminar
On 16 June Every Angle and Koninklijke Gazelle organized the seminar “How Gazelle improves operational processes in a SAP run business fast”. The seminar was well attended and the topic was much appreciated, in short: the event was a big success.
Program
After a tour of the historic Royal Dutch Gazelle bicycle factory the more than one hundred attendants heard the Gazelle project team explain how they apply Every Angle. During the seminar Rolf Verspuij (CFO Gazelle), John Smits (IT manager Gazelle) and Tjalling de Vries (Supply Chain Manager Gazelle) explained the optimization of SAP, the improvement in data integrity and the monitoring of the Gazelle operational processes using Every Angle. This was followed by an interactive workshop. Richard den Ouden, senior consultant at Every Angle demonstrated how to attain operational excellence. Next, Jan Heerema (SAP Netherlands) explained the SAP vision on Supply Chain Performance Management.
Gazelle and Every Angle
The Gazelle bicycle production process is considerably complex. To handle this complexity even better, Gazelle wanted to increase their insight into the internal processes. In everyday practice, there was a demand for extra operational control information. Gazelle responded by implementing the Every Angle standard software system. Immediately after the installation of Every Angle Gazelle had fast and easy access to all operational information from their SAP system. Since then Gazelle uses Every Angle to optimize SAP, to improve the data integrity and to monitor the operational processes.
SCOR and Every Angle
At the end of last year, Astellas started the pilot project Supply Chain Operations Reference Model (SCOR). Astellas’ objective was to determine which results were needed in order to be able to complete the SCOR model for Astellas (for one product family).
Wim van der Poel (SCOR/SAP consultant at Van der Poel Consultancy) has performed a great number of analyses and SCOR measurements using the Every Angle software. Every Angle has given functional support, with a view to establishing whether the software can be used to perform SCOR analyses.
SCOR
The Supply Chain Operations Reference Model (SCOR) is a globally accepted reference model to determine and analyze the goods flows.
The SCOR model charts the logistic processes, based on the following five processes: Purchasing, production, distribution, planning and returns.
The SCOR model consists of three detail levels:
- On the first level, the KPIs and a score card for the current position are compared with the competition.
- On the second level, all threats are represented in a diagram.
- On the third level, the business specific processes are studied and analyzed.
Usability of Every Angle
Every Angle has been used to extract data from Astellas’s SAP system. Within six days, more than 50 angles were created with which the data for the second detail level could be calculated.
According to Wim van der Poel, using Every Angle has the following advantages:
- Every Angle is flexible;
- ONC transparency (insight into the chain through allocation of open and planned demand to available stock and planned acquisitions);
- Every Angle processes huge data volumes at high speed;
- Angles can be reused: With an elaborate SCOR model, the same calculations are made where only the parameters change.
- Sharing angles means sharing knowledge;
- A power user can create angles himself based on SCOR calculations, he can adjust selections to the business specific processes and SAP configuration and he does not have to rely on IT consultants or software developers.
- Using an available application. Every Angle happens to be in place at Astellas already.
Conclusion: SCOR and Every Angle are a fine combination
Wim van der Poel concluded that the combination of knowledge of goods flows, SCOR and the use of Every Angle is a great tool to analyze the goods flows with the aid of the SCOR model.
Every Angle at the VNSG Conference 2010
The annual VNSG Conference (Vereniging van Nederlandstalige SAP Gebruikers, Association of Dutch SAP Users) took place on 8 and 9 April: it is the number one event where SAP professionals get together. This year’s theme was: Ahead through IT.
Every Angle was one of the main sponsors with two stands and ran the workshop ‘Measuring KPIs = actions? = result!’. Just as in previous years, there was something special to be experienced at our stand: visitors could “ride” a Gazelle racing bicycle on a virtual track of 1 kilometer. The fastest cyclist could win a Gazelle bicycle. Arnout Salomé of IFS Probity (Ctac) won the bicycle in the men’s competition. Corrie Steffens of the University of Amsterdam won the women’s competition.

INSynQ Project Partner of Every Angle
As an Every Angle Project Partner, INSynQ will concern itself primarily with defining and implementing KPI dashboards using the Every Angle Dashboard Engine. By appointing external partners, Every Angle has the opportunity to meet the rising demand and to enrich the application of Every Angle with additional competencies.
“Improvement processes are often marred by the fact that improvements cannot be demonstrated and by the lack of flexibility to measure new things. With Every Angle software, we have the right information so we can support improvement processes efficiently and effectively in our relations. In a manner of speaking, Every Angle makes our improvement model ‘lean’”, says René de Veer, the man in charge of Marketing, Sales and Alliances at INSynQ.
“The improvement model of INSynQ is based on the assumption that processes can only be controlled and improved if there is an understanding of the processes. This requires measurements. The service that Every Angle provides is based on the principle ‘to measure is to know’. The INSynQ consultants ‘know what to measure’. They have the knowledge to make points capable of improvement more transparent with Every Angle and subsequently to link these to improvement actions, with regard to both the way in which SAP is used and the way company processes are structured”, said Jacques Adriaansen, General Manager at Every Angle.
About INSynQ
INSynQ supports its customers in achieving their organisational changes by advising them on their process choices and the deployment of ICT tools. Our project managers, architects and consultants are enterprising and innovative people who generate pragmatic solutions for all ‘stakeholders’.

Every Angle project and SAP improvement project at Friesland Foods
Following a pilot project in Supply Point Beilen, Friesland Foods decided to permanently implement Every Angle. Supply Point Beilen produces children’s food for the Dutch market (Frisolac for instance) and for international sales organisations.
During the pilot project, the data quality of master data and transaction data in SAP were significantly improved. During the next period, the focus will shift to the processes themselves, optimising the total supply chain.
A SAP improvement process was started parallel to this project, so as to improve the use of SAP and the level of knowledge of SAP within the user organisation
Every Angle and SAP Netherlands intensify cooperation
For SAP users who want to quickly analyze their operational SAP data to directly manage their operational processes, the collaboration between SAP and Every Angle offers the solution.
SAP Netherlands and Every Angle will intensify their collaboration. The combined portfolio enables SAP users to optimize their business processes and maximize the added value of their SAP implementation for their organization.
Every Angle delivers SAP-certified software that enables users to retrieve information from the SAP data structure with just a couple of mouse clicks. The software fits into the new category of object-oriented operational analysis tools that enable users to consult SAP data to manage and optimize their operational processes. This software system can be combined with business intelligence (BI) systems, which provide the management of organizations with information for their strategic decision making.
Marcel Groenenboom (Director Ecosystem & Partner Group, SAP Netherlands) sees Every Angle as an important partner for SAP, because it has proven to be a solution that increases the added value of SAP within organizations. “Because Every Angle customers improve their administrative and logistic processes and optimize the knowledge and use of their SAP system, the overall added value of SAP ERP within their organizations increases. This results in greater customer satisfaction.”
Jacques Adriaansen (General Manager, Every Angle), sees the closer cooperation as a recognition that Every Angle has become an integral part of the SAP landscape. “The fact that our relationship with SAP is reinforced in this manner, confirms our view that our solution is clearly complementary to the ERP, BI and SCM solutions from SAP.”
Richard den Ouden (Marketing Director, Every Angle) indicates that this closer collaboration with SAP Netherlands is in favor of SAP users. “For customers it is important to get a clear picture and advice, a road map showing them where they need to deploy BI tools and where they need to deploy our operational analytics. The combination makes a valuable contribution to the optimization of business processes, especially in times of recession in which businesses must respond quickly to internal and external changes. “

Successful Heineken Seminar
On Thursday March 11th 2010, Every Angle and Heineken organized the well attended seminar ‘Fast KPI-Dashboard’ at Heineken Netherlands’. More than two hundred guests listened to presentations by among others Fred Holvast (Logistics Director, Heineken Netherlands) and Hans Veltman (Product Manager, Every Angle).
Impressive tour
A number of guests began the seminar with an impressive tour along the production lines of the brewery. There they observed a small part of Heineken´s complex logistical process.
Every Angle within Heineken Netherlands
Fred Holvast explained the Heineken organization and showed which 20 KPI´s he has available for everyday use to manage both the Den Bosch and Zoeterwoude breweries.
Then Pieter van Kooten (S&OP Manager, Heineken Netherlands) took the floor. He clarified the new Sales & Operations Planning process. Goal of this new process is to improve decision making across the entire supply chain based on accurate data. Using the Every Angle Dashboard Engine all members of the S&OP team use the same set of data. The advantages are clear: thanks to the Every Angle Dashboard Engine the work can be done much more efficiently.
Anton de Romijn (Strategic Supply Chain Analyst, Heineken Netherlands) and Peter Schalenkamp (Business Controller, Heineken Netherlands) gave a live demonstration of the Every Angle Dashboard Engine. They showed how easy it is to create a KPI and display it on a portal.
KPI in 5 minutes
Hans Veltman explained to the audience what Every Angle is exactly: software which makes data from SAP accessible in an ultrafast and simple way. Then he showed that, using the Every Angle Dashboard Engine, he can take a KPI from SAP data within 5 minutes time. Merely a couple of mouse clicks were needed to create a KPI.
A beer afterwards
The seminar was finalized at the bar serving all different kinds of Heineken beer. After enthousiastic discussion about the Dashboard Engine and its variety of applications, all attendees returned home having been presented with special beer glasses, a beer tray and a box of Heineken apple cider. A succesful seminar which we proudly look back on.
Heineken Seminar about new Every Angle Dashboard Engine
Heineken Netherlands has implemented a complete supply chain KPI dashboard within two months, thanks to the Every Angle Dashboard Engine. On 11 March 2010 Heineken Netherlands and Every Angle will organize an event around this project.
During this event, Heineken Netherlands will show how the KPI Dashboard is used within the area of Sales & Operations Planning. The project team will explain the approach, team set up and also give a demonstration of the tool. The Every Angle product manager will give a short product presentation of the Every Angle Dashboard Engine and will present future development plans. Of course, there will be plenty of opportunities for questions during both the tour around the brewery and a beer afterwards!
Every Angle Dashboard Engine
Heineken is one of the first companies in the world using the new Every Angle Dashboard Engine to extract and interpret data from SAP in this way. Usually, the interpretation and analysis of this kind of data is a well known, notoriously difficult exercise, but using this new toolset, this topic is solved with a minimum of effort. The KPIs on the -easily accessible- internal website consist of several stock overviews, service levels, lead-times in the supply chain and measurements for forecast accuracy and bias. An overview of the most important KPIs of Heineken Netherlands is presented as a balanced score card. In a historic overview, Heineken’s management can quickly evaluate the progress on the KPIs, compare the performance with pre set targets, and slice & dice the data using the powerful and intuitive drill down functionality of the KPI dashboard.
2009: Top year for Every Angle!
Although 2009 has been a year that was dominated by the global recession, Every Angle has experienced one of its most successful years to date.
Every Angle has seen impressive growth on every level. Turnover increased with 19%, and the number of users worldwide jumped up with a staggering 28%.
One of the most important things is that our customers keep on being the most enthusiastic customers we could wish for. We couldn’t have accomplished such a top year without them!
What’s new in EA 2010, Service Pack 1
Functional extensions
An important functional extension is the new EA4ETL (Every Angle for Extract, Transform & Load) component. Using this component, system managers and developers can use the Every Angle system as the data engine for other applications. This opens a wide variety of application areas for the system. Since Every Angle is unique in its knowledge of SAP data structure and business logic, it can be a very powerful data source for many reporting and planning tools, saving developers a vast amount of time (and money!) for their developments.
The last functional extension is the new capability to obtain a kind of ‘link’ to an angle. Very handy if for example you want to share an angle with a colleague without having to send the entire angle result. You can just send the ‘Hyperlink’ string via e-mail, and when the receiver clicks on it, the EveryAngle client will automatically start and after logging on, will execute the indicated angle.
Improvements in the ease of use
Every Angle is now even more easy to use because of the following improvements:
• In the field chooser, the source of every field is clearer because next to each field is an icon indicating if the field comes from SAP, Every Angle or is custom made.
• In a matrix, one can define the ‘0’ as a separate bucket and define lower- and upper limits. For example, you want all orders above Eur 1 mio grouped together and all orders that are free of charge.
• Follow-up questions now have help texts. You can call up these texts via the right-button mouse menu.
Configuration
Once again, a lot of energy was spent making the system more applicable in multiple situations and easier to configure. The most important change in this area is the large extension of functionality in Finance and Controlling (FiCo). Costing Documents and Product Costing are now part of the standard installation, along with objects for Commitment Management. In addition, the number of master data objects from FiCo is extended with Cost elements and Cost components. The number of references from Accounting Documents to logistic objects is extended and Parked Documents were added.
Two modules are extended and added to the standard list: Projects (PS) and Work Order Extensions. The latter is able to detect missing components in production and calculate its supply chain consequences.
System stability
Some strong improvements were made concerning system stability. For example, the FTP process is extended with functionality to resume a lost connection and compress the data, the SAP Job Class is configurable and the command line tool EAX3 is extended with a command to stop an SAP job (maybe hanging) and retry it.
Software Partner SAP Netherlands
Every Angle has been a Global Software Partner of SAP AG since 2001. Recently Every Angle also officially became Software Partner of SAP Nederland, the Dutch organization of SAP AG.
Based on this partnership Every Angle will cooperate even more closely with SAP Nederland to support Dutch customers to optimize their SAP landscape en maximize the added value for both IT and business.
Heineken dashboard interest group
On December 1, a number of Every Angle users familiarized themselves more with the Heineken dashboard, which has its content augmented by the software of Every Angle. The participants shared their experiences about how their organizations use Every Angle reports. The conclusion is that the advantages of Every Angle are even more prominent (‘making angles accessible’) if the angles can be made accessible in an unequivocal way within an organization in a dashboard.
Speed
The thread in the discussion is the speed one can work at in the development of a KPI in a dashboard. For example, not all specifications are known exactly beforehand, although a responsible manager can give his feedback; any reactions are then quickly processed. As a result, internal definition discussions (e.g., on ‘types of revenue’) are finished quickly. With Every Angle, you can quickly create a good KPI, after which you can implement the results of such an angle in no matter which dashboard.
Management reporting structure
It is of paramount importance to think long and hard about the management reporting structure. If there are many report details, you can soon get lost in a maze. Now it becomes urgent to start using certain classification codes for real, for example for product or customer groups. The participants agree that if you do this directly in SAP R/3, this yields added value instantaneously.
Standardizing the presentation layer
Every Angle enables the user to develop a KPI, read it into any dashboard and present it in the dashboard within 1 or 2 days. Thanks to the standardization of the presentation layer (dashboard), Heineken can present a KPI on its own without needing to programme anything. The benefits are that an organization with short iterations can provide the business quickly with up-to-date control information. Compared with a classical approach using lists, a consistent web page is the solution, because then everyone will be talking about the same details: from the board room to the coffee machine on the shop floor. The use of the dashboard is therefore no longer limited to a small group, but also noticeable across the many layers in the organization. It goes without saying that the management’s commitment is essential for the implementation.
Cross-pollination
The participants are enthusiastic about the cross-pollination: it is educational to hear from others how some affairs are organized in another company. For Every Angle, the discussion offers many points of departure for optimizing the software. If there is more interest from the users, then similar sessions will be repeated. This session wil be continued at the end of February when the Heineken dashboard results will be presented.
