Successful move of the voestalpine Railpro SAP environment

voestalpine  Railpro is one of the largest players in the Dutch rail infrastructure market. voestalpine Railpro is part of the Austrian company voestalpine Bahnsysteme GmbH. The company supplies a total package of products, services and logistics products aimed at reconstruction, construction, repair of faults and maintenance of the railway infrastructure.

From a UNIX to a Windows environment
Since 2007 Every Angle software has been used intensively within the company for supply chain oriented reports. Recently the Railpro SAP environment was moved from the Netherlands to Austria. One of the consequences was that the SAP system had to be moved to a Windows environment, as the Railpro SAP system in the Netherlands was running in a UNIX environment.

Organised within 1 day
After taking stock of all the possible consequences of moving the SAP environment, a plan was drawn up to include Every Angle in the move. Group-IT GmbH in Austria and the Every Angle consultants in the Netherlands worked together to make sure the interface between Every Angle and the SAP system in the new environment was technically and functionally organised within one day. The voestalpine Railpro end users in the Netherlands did not notice anything of the transfer of the SAP system to the new environment. After the transfer Every Angle users not only had direct access to SAP, but they also had immediate access to their Every Angle reports.
